    Ihavealwayshadaplanformyfutureaftergraduation.FreshmanyearIhaddecidedthat
    IwasgoingtoattendCalPolySLOandmajorinArchitecturalEngineering.Iwasdenied
    admissionintoCalPoly,UCBerkeley,andUCLA.Idideverythingpossibletopreparefor
    collegeandtoprepareforapplications.Iamnowfinishinghighschoolwithnoplansformy
    futureandnoideawhichwaymylifewillgo.Maybethisisagoodthing,maybeIneedtimeto
    rethinkmyplans.It'simportanttohaveaplan,butitevenmoreimportanttobehappywiththose
    plans.
    MycurrentplanistoattendSacCityCommunityCollegeforasemesterandtransfer
    overtoaCSUforwintersemester.IamnothappywiththeseplansbecauseinrealityIshouldbe
    attendingamoreprestigiouscollegerightoutofhighschool,butthefouryearcollegesthatdid
    acceptmeweremuchtoexpensivetoattendforfourtofiveyears.Iamhopingtogetacceptedto
    aCSUbecausethatwillbebetterthanpayingforoutofstatetuition.
    IhavesuccessfullypassedthreeAPcourses.IfmyBuckinghamhadofferedmoreonsite
    APclasses,IwouldhavecertainlytakenthemandmyGPAof3.98wouldcertainlyhavebeen
    higherallowingmymeritstobeconsideredgreater.Ialsochallengedmyselfbytaking
    communitycollegecoursesinadditiontomyrigoroushighschoolload.ThisfallsemesterI
    workeddiligentlytocompletefortysevencreditstoprepareforthecollegeapplicationprocess
    andtoallowmyselfmoretimetostudyforAPexamswhilestillparticipatinginschoolevents
    duringthespringsemester.

    Ihaveconsistentlybeenrankedthirdinmyclasswhiletakingonleadershiprolesin
    extracurricularactivities.ForfouryearsIhavebeenavaluablememberofourvarsitycross
    countryandvarsityboyssoccerteams.Ihavebeentheleadcrosscountryrunnerforthepast
    threeyearsandastarteronthesoccerteamallfouryears.Inadditiontobeingtheleadrunner,I
    alsohaveservedasacoachingassistantforthecrosscountryteamthisyear.Inaddition,Iwas
    chosentobecaptainofthevarsityboyssoccerteam.Duringmysophomoreyear,Iwasa
    memberofourLeadershipclassandservedontheAthleticsandClubsCommittee.ThisyearI
    amtheASBStudentBodyPresident.InalloftheseleadershiprolesIhaveworkedveryhardto
    beanexampletomypeerswithmyworkethicandpositiveattitude,challengedmyshynessto
    becomeaneffectivecommunicator,andunitestudentstoaccomplishgoals.
    Alongwithmyinvolvementinschoolextracurriculars,Iambuildingmyskillsand
    relationshipsthroughmanyotheractivities.IamcurrentlyasalesassociateattheVacaville
    AdidasOutlet.Iworksixteentotwentyhoursaweek.Inaddition,IjoinedtheNorthBayElite
    FutbolClubmysophomoreyear.Iwasabletoquicklyimproveandwasmadethestartingright
    defender.Ialsoparticipatedinmyfirstmarathonlastyear.IrantheSLOMarathoninSanLuis
    Obispoandfinishedinsecondplaceformyagegroup.Itrainedforaboutsixmonthsontopof
    playingformyclubsoccerteam.IalsoparticipateinadventurerunsknownasSpartanraces.The
    Spartanracesembodycamaraderie,courage,andcompetition.Therearethreeseparatelevels
    sprint,super,andbeast.Icompletedallthreelevelslastyearin2015andearnedmytrifecta.
    StayinghealthyandfithasalwaysbeenveryimportanttomeandItheseachievements
    demonstratemydiscipline,gritandworkethicqualitiesIwillusetoachieveandsucceedin
    college.

    ItisevidentthatIhavedonemuchmorethanmosttoprepareforcollege.Ihave
    challengemyselfallthroughouthighschool.Ihavealsodevelopedmanycloserelationships
    becauseofmyactivitiesbothinschoolandoutsideofschool.Iwouldhavepreferedtoattenda
    moreprominenthighschoolsoIcouldhavebetteracademicstandingsbutBuckinghamhasbeen
    agreatexperience.
