Students will define ecosystem as the relationship between living things and their
environment, including non-living things with 80% accuracy.
Students will place organisms in order of the food chain with 80% accuracy.
Materials:
Food Web cards/yarn
Anticipation guide

Introduction/Anticipatory Set:
Quick Write What you know about these 3 words (1 minute) herbivore, decomposer,
consumer
Lesson Body:
Students should go through anticipation guide throughout the lesson and fill in correct
information.
Textbook Pg. #160-165 Read to them and discuss main points.
Food web with yarn
Closure:
Gist using the three words from the warm-up.
Tell students their chosen ecosystem. Tomorrow they need to bring a food chain from their
ecosystem.
