Maintaining asepsis is one of the first things you learn.

Even
before entering the program you learn about sterile field and how
important it is to maintain asepsis. You do not just learn about
how to maintain asepsis but also the importance of it. You learn
about disease transmission and how you prevent it. All of this is
important to protect your patient and yourself. I have included a
proficiency for unit set up which is only a small part of
maintaining asepsis. It is something that becomes so second
nature but in the beginning was something that a lot of thought
had to go into.
