My responsibility and commitment with children is to respect them and respect their
rights. Get to know children and recognize that they have individual rate of development
as well as individual interest, temperaments, language, cultural, backgrounds, and
learning styles. Adapt activities to match the skill of each child. Some children need a
lot of support in learning while other children can be more independent. My
responsibility as teacher is to provide a safe and positive environment where children can
be success and ready to learn.
Ethical Responsibilities to Families:
Work collaboratively with families ensuring they all are apprised. Create goals to ensure
families are successful in accomplishing their identified goals. Build positive relationships with
families, and keep informed them of their children development and progress. Plan goals
together and give families resources to reinforce activities at home. Invite them to be part of
their childrens education by inviting parents to be involved in program activities. Parents are
always welcome to assist in planning activities, participate in parents meetings, assist in field
trips.
Ethical Responsibilities to Colleagues:
I will build positive relationships with my Colleagues, have good communication and support
our team work. Work collaboratively in a team environment ensuring all members are appraised
and respect. I will work with others, learn from others and work together to develop an excellent
service to our families and children. I will be professional with integrity, diligent and
responsibility.

Responsibilities to employers:
I will build positive relationships to employers I will produce good results, perform effectively
and communicate skillfully. I will be professional polite and loyal. I will respect authority and
maintain confidences. I will be responsible by being on time to work, keep information
confidential, and keep a positive attitude. I will follow through on assignments and other
responsibilities, and I will be appropriately dressed.
Responsibilities to employees:
I will respect other employees and have a good communication. I will keep a positive attitude
and be flexible when changes occur. I will be willing to try new things and to make changes that
will improve the program for children. I will be professional by supporting other teachers.
Ethical Responsibilities to Community and Society:
Facilitates local community partnership. Collaborate with local programs and agencies to locate
services for families. To offer training for parents like CPR, Nutrition trainings. Also take our
children for field trips to local agencies, fire department, police station and library. Parents can
also go to low income health and dental clinics.
Individual:
I will be professional and will work with integrity by respecting authority. I will keep family and
staff confidential. I will continue with my education to continue learning. I will be
compassionate, accepting childrens strong emotions such as anger, love, and wonder.
Collective:
I will respect NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and statement of commitment by Appreciate
childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle. I will base our work on
knowledge of how children develop and learn. Appreciate and support the bond between the
child and family. Recognize that children are best understood and supported in the context of
family, culture, and community, Respect diversity in children, families and colleagues.
Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that
are based on trust and respect. Appreciate the bond between the child and family.
