Executive Summary

Issues facing Tippecanoe Child Abuse Prevention Council (TCAP)

After interviewing the client, the organization is facing challenges with awareness,

advocacy, and social media platforms.

TCAP is working to improve their awareness through events. Through these events, the
organization is able to take a subtle approach to helping families understand TCAPs

purpose and reason for existence.

The organization is prioritizing media coverage at events to aid in developing awareness

and acquiring more participants at their events.

TCAP struggles with advocacy. Failing to maintain a steady network of volunteers and
professional to dedicate time and talents towards prevention of child abuse in Tippecanoe

County.
Finances are not one of the strengths of the organization. Staff members are utilizing their

own out of pocket funds to provide resources for families.

TCAP is faced with increasing numbers of child abuse within the Tippecanoe County as

well as within Indiana as a whole.

Tippecanoe County has more victims than any other counties in the region calculated by

the Department of Child Services.

Three communication objectives TCAP is trying to achieve is awareness, defining why
their services are important for the community, and encourage action in participation at
events.
