Almost everything a dental hygienist does is intraoral from

the intraoral exam at the beginning of a visit to applying fluoride

at the end of the visit. I included a proficiency about oral hygiene
instruction. This is teaching the patient how to do things
intraorally and a very important part of a dental hygienist job. I
also included an ultrasonic proficiency. Being able to use an
ultrasonic properly is an invaluable tool. A journal article review
that is included also points out how important it is to be able to
use an ultrasonic properly and how to do so. Treatment planning
includes everything that will be performed intraorally. This patient
had advanced periodontal disease and understanding the correct
intraoral procedures will make a huge difference for this patient.
Also included in this section are a grade sheets for one patient
that needed the use of an ultrasonic and one that had all crowns
or implants and the use of universal instruments was the proper
selection.
