I have witnessed her ambition and desire to succeed in her classes. She continuously proves to be a dedicated student and a leader in the classroom. She has always seemed willing to listen, leam, and try her best at any task put before her. Her maturity and enthusiastic character enables her to motivate others to do their best. Denise has maintained outstanding grades throughout her high school career which are a tesiament to her impressive determination, In addition to her academic success, Denise has been active in extra-curricular activities and volunteer work in our community. She has been a member of our basketball team and has been most actively involved in our track and field program on campus. She has proven to be motivated and self-disciplined. These qualities have also enabled her to always find time to volunteer in our community. She has spent hundreds of hours volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, as well as the Golden Valley Health Center. All of this impressive involvement academically, athletically, and within our community has earned Denise many awards and honors. She has received athletic awards, an Outstanding Volunteer award from Senator Anthony Cannella, and the California State Assembly Leadership Award. Itis encouraging for me to know that such a positive young lady is an active part of our school and community. Denise has set extensive goals to continue her education at very prestigious universities and institutions of higher learning and eventually become a physician.
