During this time Denise has been a pleasant and respectful young lady. During the course of Denise's high school years, she has continued to grow academically and emotionally. Denise has always challenged herself academically to meet our high school graduation requirements and beyond. In addition to her academic course work, Denise has spent time volunteering with the Boys and Girls. Club earning over 300 hours. She also volunteers at a medical clinic getting exposure to the medical needs of our community. Denise is involved in the Avid and Spanish clubs and extra-curricular activities in school. Denise was @ member of Junior Leadership Merced which is associated with our Chamber of Commerce. Denise is an athlete playing basketball one season and a varsity track and field member for 3 years. She has the distinguished honor of being # 1 in track and field in Merced County and # 3 in Division 4; she is recognized as an outstanding volunteer through Senator Anthony Canella’s office; and she is the recipient of the Cal State ‘Assembly Leadership Award through Assemblyman Adam Gray's office. In her spare time Denise enjoys traveling, playing the piano, singing, and spending time with her family. In addition to her activities she has maintained rigorous classes. Denise has demonstrated a passion for Science in the classroom and hopes to earn a degree in Biology pursuing pediatric medicine, or may consider an option through the military to practice medicine. | believe Denise has learned and nurtured the true value of higher education through her experiences. Denise possesses numerous personal attributes that identify her as an outstanding student, but more importantly a genuine person.
