After I read this story, I realize that in our society, there are so many
paradigm, point of view, sets of rule, something which is regarded
good and bad. The reality, a set of rule which is exist I one society or
area may different from the others. In this story, the narrator posted
Hester as a strong woman. Although she had been rejected by the
people in the society because oh her sin, she tried to live better with
her little daughter. In the society, include in our culture, it is common
when a woman had a baby without a marriage status (unclear father of
the baby), is regarded as an adulteress and must be punished using the
rule which exists in those society. However, we often met the case when
there was a woman who had a baby without a marriage status, the only
person who always to be blamed and punished is the woman, not the
man. It is not fair. They (the woman and the man) did the sin together,
but only the woman who accepted the consequences, where is the
position of the man who also took part in the sin in here? Sometimes

the rule in the society takes a larger part than the legal law. In some
cases, the moral sanction can be more cruel the legal law. People of the
society may kick out the member of the society if he/she is regarded as
a sinner who have done a sins though the legal law stated that every
people has the right to live in this world. It sounds that the rule of the
certain society is against the human right. However, in this world we
live with the others, we need them, we cant live individually. Therefore
we have to obey and appreciate all of he rule in the society. Women, in
this story had to accept the worst consequences because of her need
that is love. We all as a human being need love in our life and fall in
love is the human right. The narrator told that there is no justice
between woman and man in this world. The mens position is
considered higher than womens position. Actually, the position of
people is same in the world; no one is higher than other.
