    DatingbacktowhenIwasachild,Ihavealwayswantedtohelpthoselessfortunate.My
    familywasnevermiddleclass,butratherlowerclass.Therefore,Ihaveaclearunderstandingof
    whatitfeelstobeimpoverished.Weweredependentonfoodstamps,andthemanagementof
    moneyexpensesfromthebeginningofthemonthtilltheendwascrucial.Throughtherelentless
    repetitionofwitnessingbothofmyparentsbickeringoverunpaidbills.Itwasadifficult
    situationinourlives,althoughitwasthemostblessedcomparedtothoseinthirdworld
    countries.

    LivinginAmerica,Iwasshelteredfromtheconditionsoftheoutsideworld,asIassumed
    myfamilywasthespecialcasewhoexperiencedtheeffectsofpoverty.Withthewidearrayof
    socialmediaandnewsthankstotheinternet,Isoonrealisedtherewasmoreeconomicand
    financialburdenthroughoutallcontinents.Itwaseasytohavedoubtsanduncertaintyforfuture
    thoughtsandaspirationsandtheonlythingthatkeptmefeelingtherewasstillhopewasmy
    family.Despitemyfamilyandtheirlackoffinancialprowess,theirloveandkindnessforeach
    otherhasenabledthemtoovercomeanyobstacles,includingfinancialburdens.Through
    diligenceandperseverance,wesavedmoneybyminimizingunnecessarycostassociatedwith
    energyandresources.Thelittlewesavedmayhaveseemedtobelittleeffort,butmadeahuge

    differenceonourmonthlybills.Itwasanobligationweallhadtocommitto,anditwasimposed
    uponmewiththeresponsibilitytosupervise.Itwasmyjobtoensurethelightswereturnedoff
    whennotinuse,tomakesureeveryoneusedwaterinsmallamounts,andwithallmyyears
    beingsheriffofthehouse,weneverusedouracandheatingunitsunlessabsolutelyrequired.
    Withhardworkandalotofsacrifice,wesavedhugeamountsofmoneyandindoingso,
    Iwas
    proudtohavemadeadifferenceinhelpingmyfamily.Thisallcarriedanimpactthatwasdirect
    tomydreamsandambitions,whichleadmewantingtocaterforthoselessfortunate.Thehands
    onexperienceIattainedfrommypasthasallowedmetogainacertainknowledgethatpermitted
    metodreamfurther.Throughtheashesandtheagonizingpicturesofvictimsinthirdworld
    countries,allmylife'sambitionswillbededicatedtohelpandsupportthoselivingthrough
    povertyandoppression.Itwillalwaysbemydreamtohelpandcaterforthosewhohavenofood
    orshelter.Iplanonbuildingsustainablesheltersforthosewhohavenoroofovertheirheads.To
    createschoolsforthoseinpoverty.Toprovidesustenanceforthosestrugglingtolivethroughthe
    basics.Beingequippedwithsuchknowledge,IhopeIcouldfulfillsuchaspirationsinthenear
    future,andthatIcanbethecatalystthatinfluencestheworldaroundme.
