To The Frank Phillips College Scholarship Committee:
| am pleased to write to you regarding Emily P. Martinez, an outstanding student
from my FYIS last fall. Emily is a leader—her interest and enthusiasm set the
tone for the class, and her extra work on the Penny Project and the Holocaust
Remembrance Program inspired her classmates to do their best.
As a scholarship recipient, Emily would be an excellent investment in the future.
Her goals are humanitarian and scientific, and she is already at work,
independently researching and experimenting with community gardening and
aquaponic farming to bring sustainable fresh food and fish to the needy, as well
as jobs to the community. | encourage you to ask her in person about these
projects—her plans will amaze you.
Emily values education and makes the most of her opportunities, doing more
than required on every assignment, volunteering, and seeking out professors for
additional information. She is focused, responsible, and dedicated to serving
others. She is active in the community and with campus organizations. |
especially enjoy her contributions to the Plainsmen Post, such as her recent
article on climate zones.
| am excited to see what will be accomplished by this wise and motivated young
woman, with the education she is pursuing. | give her my highest
recommendation,
Sincerely,
Gog thd
