The speech which will be given with the image will be: “Today, the site which Cannon Mills once stood is hosting the North Carolina Research Campus and the Kannapolis City Hall. Although the view may be sore to the eyes of those that cherish Cannon Mills, this area has become very beneficial to society as well. As I went to the Research Campus at the beginning of this month to take this pictures, I saw many people ‘working in these buildings. Jobs were taken when Cannon Mills was shut down, but jobs were also provided when the Research Campus was built. The place is built to be friendly to the community. I saw families, loved ones, elderlies, cyclists, and skateboarders as they enjoyed themselves on the campus. As a closing statement, I would like everyone to believe that Cannon Mills is not gone and it still lives on as the North Carolina Research Campus.”
