Previous to that, Ms. Callaghan was a long-term substitute teacher for a full year. Ms. Callaghan is an extremely impressive educator by any measure and especially for someone starting their career. She was able to take over my classes immediately. She has excellent classroom management and rapport with students. She incorporated my goals for the classes and taught lessons in an engaging, innovative manner. Ms. Callaghan is always reflecting and strategizing and exhibits the habits of a master teacher. In addition to teaching six sections of language arts, Ms. Callaghan acted as coach of the school's performance (slam) poetry team. She spent afternoons after school working with the students.
