Megan completed her student teaching experience with me this spring at Hilliard Memorial Middle School, During her time at Hilliard Memorial, Megan has grown as an educator and become an excellent candidate for employment. On the podium Megan has an excellent demeanor with the students. She has the ability to include pertinent musical information, add a slice of humor and deliver it with excellent pacing. This is an outstanding combination for any teacher, especially an educator who is just starting in the profession. Ms. Manley has a kind, generous, caring heart that shines in her teaching. Kids ‘are drawn to her and they thrive in her classroom! One of Ms. Manley’s most impressive qualities as a teacher is her ability to connect with the students. In a very short time, Megan was able to gain the trust and support of the students in the middle school and sixth grade classes. They responded well to her approach and professional yet relaxed demeanor in class and worked diligently to achieve the goals she set forth. The performances by each band at the spring concerts were a testament to her work in the classroom. ‘Megan has been a conscientious student teacher who looks for a challenge, accepts it and tackles the issues head on. Her work ethic, good judgment and mature outlook are just a few of her tremendous attributes that will serve her well in her future endeavors.
