The book How to Write a Paragraph written by Richard Paul and Linda Elder is
practically everything a writer needs to write effectively and analytically. The guide goes over
both the learning aspect and the actual physical aspect of writing a piece. To start the book goes
over what it intends to teach the reader. It then tells the reader many different reasons a person
can write and goes into depth. For example, the guide goes over a person can write for reflection
or just as a pure exercise for the mind. In addition it also covers writing within disciplines and
non-substantive core writing. For the more practical portion of the book it goes over techniques
such as paraphrasing, clarification strategies, and analyzing reasoning. The author teaches a
writer how paragraphs build up and entire essay. If the paragraphs are strong so is the essay.
