The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a festival that takes place every

year at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. In 1999 Paul Tollet founded the
festival. The concerts feature many genres of music like rock, indie, pop, hip hop,
electronic, dance, house, alternative and many others. There are simultaneously
live concerts, art installations and sculptures all around the festival to keep people
entertained.
The festival brings the attention from people all around the world who travel just to
attend it. It is a very popular festival but the tickets are over US$400 which makes
people say that Coachella is a festival for famous people to see other famous
people. But, it is a worth experience and you can meet a lot of people, whether
they are famous or not.
The festival is divided in two parts: the music one and the visual arts. All the
sculptures are made by people who are studying architecture.
This year Coachella was held on April 10-12 and April 17-19, two consecutive
weekends. It featured lot of well known artist such as AC/DC, Hozier, Drake,
Madeon, The Machine, Marina and the Diamonds, David Guetta and a lot more.
The bottom right picture is called Escape Velocity and was made by Poetic
Kinetics. This sculpture was presented in 2014. It was inspired by the hope that
todays youth will embrace space exploration as a solution to the many problems
we face today according to Kinetics words.
