The investigation was on environmental education progress
in Indian public and private schools. The investigation found that in most of the public Indian schools, the progress on this topic has been very stagnant. The samples used were public and private schools. To analyze progress the investigators analyzed lessons plans developed for this specific topic. For example, they considered theoretical teaching of this field and a very poor method and valued a more experimental approach. The types of lesson plans and curriculum presented had different weights for the schools analyzed. The aim was to get a general perspective of achievement of the obligatory Indian environmental education law.
