Pi Day Poem
Whenever you think of pi,
You may think of the food,
However pi is actually a mathematical constant,
That represents the ratio of a circles circumference to its diameter.
No one knows who discovered pi,
Although it was thought to be discovered in ancient Greek times,
This may be a lie.
Pi is irrational,
Meaning it cannot be written as a fraction that is rational.
Pi really never ends,
But is 3.14 for short,
It is a really good friend,
Who helps solve math problems and gives support.
Pi is used in many ways,
Which is why it has its own day.
It can be used to find the area of a circle,
By doing pi times radius squared.
It can be used to find the circumference of a circle,
By doing pi times diameter.
Some celebrities have been born on pi day,
One of those celebrities is Albert Einstein.
If pi was not invented, Math would be even harder,
This is why I love pi.
