April 30, 2016 To Whom It May Concern: It is my privilege to recommend Haley Evans for an elementary teaching position. [had the pleasure of working with Haley at Clift Elementary school in Waxahachie as her mentor teacher during her intern teaching semester. Under my supervision she taught fourth grade students reading, language, writing, and social studies. Under Mrs. Cremers’ supervision she tutored math and seience. Haley is extremely organized, and this was apparent in her planning for teaching assignments. She did an excellent job with lesson planning and ensured that all students learned related TEKS. for each objective covered. She created and taught several grammar lessons that were integrated with Discovery Education activities on covered topics. She demonstrated a care for students” individuality and adapted for each unique situation. She modified lessons and individually tutored when necessary for student achievement. She is an enthusiastic teacher, and this enthusiasm carries over to the students. Haley worked well with other members of the Clift staff. This was evident by her weekly attendance at grade level team meetings, after school staff meetings, and lesson planning meetings, She also attended two CAT (Campus Improvement Team) meetings which were held after school. Her commitment to student success is foremost in her teaching approach. Due to the unique make-up of our classes this year, Haley attended numerous parent conferences, RTI meetings, and ARD meetings both during and after schoo]. Because she worked with all students, she offered relevant first-hand information and input during many of these conferences. Haley tracked with a set of students so she was able to assist them in math and science class. She learned the students’ strengths and weaknesses and was able to tutor in class. This puts her years ahead of the experience brought to a new teaching position. Haley volunteered her own time to assist with after school tutoring in writing, Haley is dedicated to providing long-term love of leaming for all students.
