Welcome to the ODScore Mentoring Program. This learning module

provides an Introduction to Mentoring: The Role of the Mentor.
Heres an agenda of what you are going to learn. In this module you will
get some perspective on mentoring
Youll learn where mentoring comes from, what mentoring is and what
its about
You will explore why mentoring is important, what a mentor does and
how mentoring is different than other types of relationships like that of a
coach or a manager.
You will also learn how you build a good mentoring relationship
Use the player controls on the bottom of the screen or the menu on the
top right to navigate the course. A high level outline of the course is
provided as well. You can access this by clicking on the three bars to the
left of the slide title bar.
Lets look at an example.
Alison is an Engineer and she works at a large manufacturing facility.
During the course of her day, Alison walks the floor and pays particular
attention to this one machine. Alison knows that even though this
machine is running within specifications, the machine shows signs of
trouble. Alison explains when it makes that noise its not a good noise.
