FEB 2 6 2008 No. 92. 8.2008 ‘TRAINING OF CFSS (CHILD FRIENDLY SCHOOL SYSTEM) COORDINATORS, AND SCHOOL HEADS ON THE MODELING PROCESS To: Regional Directors Schools Ditision/City Superintendents Heads, Pullic Secondary Schools 1. The Child Friendly Schools System (CFSS), a project of UNICEF in collaboration with this Department, was piloted in eight (8) and expanded in fifty three (53) public secondary schools in 2006 and 2007, respectively, This year will mark the expansion of this program to another 60 low performing schools from the 22 divisions in tne 12 regions across the country based on the NAT result. The list of schools with .he names of supervisors coordinating the program is in Enclosure No. 1. 2. _ In order b prepare the divisions to assist the schools, regions to guide the divisions and tie school personnel in implementing the program, a series of training prograns shall be conducted. The purposes of the trainings are to: a) build the capacity of the regional, division coordinators, school heads and teachers of the schools to be able to effectively and efficently implement the program; b) provde technical assistance in program implementation spedfically in the modeling process, conducting focused group conrersations (FGC) and use of program support materials; ¢) entance the leadership capabilities of students to involve them actvely in establishing a student friendly school setting; d) build the capacity of school and community nurses/health workers and school heads to successfully lead, advocate and inplement health promoting schools; and e) nonitor the pilot and expansion schools for the purpose of sddressing issues and concerns on program implementation. 3. The raining programs, tentative dates, and list of participants are shown in Enclosure jo. 2. 4. Thetransportation, board and lodging and other incidental expenses to be incurred ty participants shalll be charged against HRDT funds. The transportation and other allowable traveling expenses of all participants shall be reimbursed during te said activity/ies upon presentation of complete travel documents, subject tothe usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.5.
