INTRODUCTION
Maglev(derived frommagneticlevitation) is a method
of propulsion that usesmagnetic levitation
topropelvehicles withmagnetsrather than withwheels,
axles and bearings. With maglev, a vehicle is levitated a
short distance away from a guide way using magnets to
create both lift and thrust. High-speed maglev trains
promise dramatic improvements for human travel if
widespread adoption occurs.

PERMANENT MAGNET
Apermanent magnetis an object made from a material that
ismagnetizedand creates its own persistent magnetic field. An
everyday example is arefrigerator magnetused to hold notes
on a refrigerator door. Materials that can be magnetized, which
are also the ones that are strongly attracted to a magnet, are
calledferromagnetic (orferromagnetic). These
includeiron,nickel,cobalt, some alloys ofrare earth metals,
and some naturally occurring minerals such aslodestone.

MICROCONTROLLER
: Amicrocontroller(sometimes
abbreviatedC,uCorMCU) is a small computer on
a singleintegrated circuitcontaining a processor
core, memory, and
programmableinput/outputperipherals. Program
memory in the form ofNOR flashorOTP ROMis
also often included on chip, as well as a typically
small amount ofRAM.

RF ID
Radio-frequency identification(RFID) is the
wireless use ofelectromagnetic fieldsto transfer
data, for the purposes of automatically identifying
and tracking tags attached to objects. The tags
contain electronically stored information.

WIND JET
A wind jet is areaction enginedischarging a fast
movingjetthat generatesthrustbyjet propulsionin
accordance withNewton'slaws of motion. This
broad definition of jet engines
includesturbojets,turbofans,rockets,ramjets,
andpulse jets. In general, jet engines are
combustion engines but non-combusting forms also
exist.

ADVANTAGE
Maglev vehicles emit no pollution. When they
consume electricity, no carbon dioxide is emitted.
Even if they use electricity from coal- or natural-gasfired power plants, the resulting CO 2 emission is
much less than that from autos, trucks, and
airplanes, because of Maglev's very high energy
efficiency.

DISADVANTAGE
There are several disadvantages with maglev
trains. Maglev guide paths are bound to be more
costly than conventional steel railways. The other
main disadvantage is lack with existing
infrastructure.
