Dear Mr. Newkirk,

In January 2016, President Obama announced the Computer Science for All initiative, which
seeks to empower all American students from kindergarten through high school to learn
computer science and obtain computational thinking skills. CS for All calls to increase funding
for computer science at the public school and state levels, increase involvement of government
officials and education leaders and engage those in the private sector to deepen their commitment
to computer science.
Shodor, an educational nonprofit organization in Durham, N.C., has promoted computational
science education for students since 1994. We offer year-round workshops, apprenticeships and
internships for students from middle school to the undergraduate level. Our interactive programs
led by our dedicated staff ensure that students succeed in the math and science fields.
In addition to our on-site programs, Shodors free online programs are available to students
around the country to provide vital educational tools for practice and exploration. These online
tools are developed by our apprentices and interns. Our Interactivate website was featured and
awarded A+ ratings by Education World, a highly ranked website for educators.
Help Shodor continue its commitment to expanding computer science education through the CS
for All initiative by making a contribution or signing your child up for our programs today.

Sincerely,

Robert Panoff
Executive Director of Shodor
