Why E3 should be open to the public.

Sam Lopez, in his column E3 should be We3 (22 April 2016), suggests that the E3 trade
show should be open to the public.

4. Who is your audience, and what in your column gives credence to your
answer?
My audience is people who play videogames, fans of the videogame market, and consumers
of the video game market or those who are unaware of the E3 show. I address this in my
intro by saying for those of you who dont know and later address the audience as fans
alike.

5. What research did you do prior to and during the creation of your column?
The research I put in was mostly looking up statistics about videogames and additionally
find information about the specifics of E3. This includes the sizing of the convention center
and how to apply to attend it.

What did
you learn? What were your challenges? What were your accomplishments? Did
any of your prior opinions change, etc., etc.
The entire columnist project really made me appreciate the effort put into newspapers and blogs
and such. Prior to the project, I just assumed that most columns were just people rambling on
about their opinion of something but now I realize that it actually takes a lot of time and effort to
produce something worth reading. I found it challenging to read some of the columns I
disagreed with but eventually I learned that I dont have to like the columnists opinion I just
have to be able to form my own based off of it. I feel very accomplished that I was able to
produce a column about something that I personally believe in with not very much difficulty.
