HEADQUARTERS. 750TH TRANSPORTATION BATTALION, (Rwy Oper) Aifil) October I, 1955 Quortermaster General Department of the Army Weshington, D. C. Dear Sir: In February, 1955, the 750th Transportation Battalion (Rwy Oper) (AFfil), sponsored by the St. Louis-Sen Francisco Railway Company (Frisco), St. Louis, Mo. was activated as an early ready Army Reserve Unit, Transportation Corps. Subsequent to 1947, this Unit was classified as @ non-unit organization, and was designated as the 5750th Transportation Battalion (Rwy Oper) . The 750th Battalion was set up in the tentative organization before the War as @ Unit to be sponsored by the Frisco Railway Company; however, when the Unit was called to active duty during World War II, the Frisco was unable to furnish necessary officer personnel, so thet the bottalion was activated largely without specific sponsorship, although there were o number of Frisco men assigned to the Unit. ‘As Commanding Officer of the 750th, In conjunction with the Frisco Rallway Compeny, I'am seeking information relative to the history of the 750th from the time it was originally activated in the early 40's until it was deactivated at the end of the War. We are particularly interested in training sites and periods, and overseas tion of this Unit. Also, I would appreciate your informing me if there has ever been a battalion crest authorized this organization. Thanking you in advance for any information you may furnish me, My address is: Poul J.
