Mypositionwhilecompletingmyinternshipisastheinstructionaltechnologyteacher.Inthe
HowardCountyPublicSchoolSystem,theclassoftechnologyisarelatedartsclassthatall
kindergartenthrough5thgradestudentsattendforsixtyminutesaweek.Theclassisdesignedto
introducetechnologyskillstostudentsandproducecurriculumalignedassignmentsusingtools
thatareapprovedbythecounty.Theylearndigitalcitizenshipskillsaswellasinternetand
identitysafety.Becauseofmyuniquepositionintheschool,Iamabletoteachmanystudents
fromallsixofthedifferentgrades.Iteachawiderangeofchildrenwithexceptionalitieswho

havevaryinglevelsofneedsinacademicsandbehavior.Theyallcometomeforthefullsixty
minuteseachweekwiththeirhomeroomclass,regardlessofgradeorplacement.Acrossthefull
populationoftheschool,Icurrentlyteach40%ofthechildrenthatarecurrentlyenrolled.
