Character
Character isnt just how you act it is how you carry yourself and reflects your
moral beliefs. How you act towards your coaches, referees, teammates, and community
is what reflects your character. You want people to remember you by your character. The
type of person you are is what defines your character.
Pg. 90 in the text explains how athletes need to be taught sportsmanship and
friendliness. If somebody needs to be taught to respect other and treat other right, than
that athlete lacks character. Yes coaches should teach this but, the athletes shouldnt need
to be told over and over again how to respect others. It is their parents job to raise their
child the right way by teaching them respect.

Muddiest Point
Pg, 89-90 winning is irrelevant and competition is therefore not serious.
Some say there is more to sports than winning. For some cases that may be true
but for the overall purpose of the game is to win. Winning teaches greatness, nobody
wants to lose in anything in life even a sports game. Coaching a winning team will make
those athletes more and more successful as their lives go on.
