Tone or voice My editing voice always asks questions about sections or
parts of a document that either doesnt sit well with me or makes me wonder
what the context is. I make sure that my edits do not largely take away what
the author is trying to get at; rather, I try to see if I can make that message
come across better without losing the authors voice. Im a little bit blunt, but
when I make suggestions, its not a command, nor a directive. Theyre just
gentle suggestions where I provide an alternative, or at least a lead to an
alternative, and the author has a choice as to whether they can accept the
alternative or not.
