Colour Scheme

Two main colours are used in the Film Review and poster.
We decided to use black and red as they are bold and stand
out, but also as these are commonly found in film media
that our target audience are interested in. E.g.- Empire Film
magazine. We didn’t want the colours to make either too
busy and that they look too much. Both colours go together
Well.

Layout
By looking at real media texts they all tend to have
Simple layouts. In particular independent films. We
Wanted this to inspire us, as Blockbusters usually
have quite complicated posters, as they have to list
people that helped and took part in the film, as well
as everything else. We kept to the simple theme in
both our texts, to keep with the conventions.
Fonts
Even though we wanted our 2 texts to link, they are separate
texts, so although we used different fonts, they both stand
out and catch the viewers eye.

Text
The text in both texts we tried to keep as simple
as possible so it didn’t make them look crammed with
writing. We didn’t use tag lines in the film poster, as we
wanted the film to be a mystery to the viewer.
the way we have linked these also is by using a quote
from the film review onto the poster.
Images
Both of these texts, we have used photos of our “running
man” running. This shows the point of the film, without
giving too much away, giving the audience a shock when
they come to watch the film. In our film review we followed
The conventions of review by using a screen shot of our
Character running in the film.

Our poster also includes a running silhouette which

Is also the ‘I’ in ‘The Running Man’. This was our own
little touch on the poster.
