England and France are now

united
Queen Victoria met Napolean, the third in 1855.
He came to talk to her and she convinced him to
let England and France be united instead of bitter
enemies. Queen Victoria did a great thing uniting
England and France. After Napolean the third left
the queen wrote her opinion of the emperor.
Queen Victoria is membered by this because she
untied France and England after centuries of both
of these countries being rivals and hating each
other, so that now they will help each other
instead of trying to destroy one another. France
and England will always be united because of what
Queen Victoria did in 1855.

In the 1800s women had no rights and no property; men

had total control over their wives. Also wife beating was
extremely common and only caused outrage in London.
Husbands were allowed to hit their wives if the women
upset them or annoyed the husbands. Men ordered their
wives to do things that they thought the women should do,
and they women could not refuse because she might get
beaten if she said no. On 7 Oct. 1853 the editor of Hull
Packet stated in his writing that now in London wife
beating was the new habit of the nation. Also a clergyman
in Cumbria claimed that the Law of God permitted men to
beat their wives.
People opposed with the way that men treated women.
Women stuck together and fought against their husbands
so that they would not get abused again. Men had complete
control over the womens property, jobs at home, and their
daily life outside of the house. Women in the 1800s
basically had to marry because they could not buy property
without have a husband. Once a women was married her
stuff did not exists and all her stuff she will never have
again because the husband will keep her stuff after they
die, and that is wrong women should have ownership over
anything they buy.
