Discussion
The General Plans of Action that I made are more on education. These plans include (I)
Surveys, (II) the Current Actions that were already imposed on the year 2015-2016, and (III)
Student Relations and Education.
In the survey section, most of the surveys will be assigned to the batch representatives
for them to gather the thoughts of the students that are needed to be deliberated within the
council and to the student body. Under the survey is the (1) Timely Status Checking. This is a
timely survey on the students for what are their thoughts on some issues in the university, in
SOTECH, and also among the batches. This will be assessed by the batch representatives. What
makes this hard to implement is the cooperation and involvement of the students which is easy
to handle if the ones who is assessing the survey (Batch Representatives) are really doing it.
With this action, the students on SOTECH can freely address their thoughts towards about the
issues which will be deliberated to the council. Another is the (2) Transition Issues Checking.
This is a more specific survey on the students thoughts about university-wide issues (e.g. GE
Reform, SAIS, etc.). The Only problem here is still the participation of the students to address
their thoughts. The thing that can be done here is to encourage them to speak out whats
within their mind. This plan of action promotes the involvement and knowledge of each student
in the School of Technology with the university issues and problems. In this way, we can alrea dy
contribute to the university by being knowledgeable of the issues.
The next one is about the current actions that have been already implemented in the
year 2015-2016. Under this is the (3) Book Sharing. The book sharing system will still be

implemented for everyone to have good resources for their studies, academics, and others. The
batch representatives are assigned to be the point person to where the students of the batch
can ask their desired books as the batch representatives will ask it during the meeting of the
council to be discussed and check the availability of the book to the different year levels. The
challenge here is about the loss of the property. The most appropriate action for this is that the
owner and the borrower should meet and must have an agreement about the loss of the
property. By continuing this sharing, we are already helping each other for the students of the
School of Technology become more successful with their academics and others. Another is the
(4) Tutorials. The tutorials will still be conducted which will be free for everyone who needs it.
The peer tutors will be chosen by asking those who are willing to teach and help their fellow
SOTECH students. The main problem here is the availability of the peer tutors. As a resolution,
the students who would like to have the tutor are obliged to ask the peer tutors for their time
beforehand so that they can still manage and assess their time. With this plan of action, the
student relations will be developed as well as the learning of each student will also be
developed.
And lastly, the student relations and education section which concerns about everyone.
Under this is the (5) Experience Sharing. Surveys will be done first done per batch asking the
students about their experiences in SOTECH especially about the academics. There will be a set
of survey forms to be given per batch. The students will write their experiences (most likely
significant academic experiences) on the form. As soon as they finish it, these written surveys
will be given to the higher years to give their ideas and suggestions to them. As soon as the
whole process will be finished, all those papers will then be gathered and will be processed to
publish a general result of it. There will be a possibility that an open forum will be conducted
within batched but it already depends on the demand for the event to happen. The problem
here again is the cooperation and the will of the students to open up such ideas . So everyone
will be encouraged to really rise up their problems as this will really help them. The advantage
here is that the lower years will be informed for what might happen in the future since it can
already give then an idea for what to do when theyre already on that situation and get ready
for it.
