FREE TAX ASSISTANCE AND MORE AT THE CHAPEL HILL PUBLIC LIBRARY
What is the Librarys mission?

To accomplish these goals, the Library offers services and amenities to assist the
community in matters of education, government information and more.
Government Services
Affordable Care Act Information:
o If you need assistance enrolling or re-enrolling in a health insurance plan,
schedule an appointment at the Library. Spanish language assistance is available
for those who need it.
o For further information about scheduling an appointment and what you need to
bring, please call 919-968-2780 or visit the Librarys website.
Voter Registration and Polling
o For information about the Orange County Board of Elections, upcoming elections
and voter registration go online.
o Registration Applications and mail-in forms are available at the Library.
Tax Form and Assistance
o The Library distributes forms for federal personal income tax returns from
January through April 15, 2016.
o A free tax assistance program is available at the Library to help taxpayers with
low-to moderate-income, persons with disabilities and individuals for whom
English is their second language. For more information about the program and

Medicare Counseling Sessions
o Seniors who are, or will soon be, eligible for Medicare are welcome to attend free,
one-on-one counseling sessions at the Library.
o Sessions are by appointment only, on the first Wednesday of each month.
