Dear Families,

Hello! My name is Mary Fahey and I am a Junior Early Childhood Education Major at the
University of Dayton. I am originally from the Southside of Chicago and I chose to come to the
University of Dayton after visiting my older brother and instantly falling in love with the school.
I decided to enter the Teacher Education program my freshman year and I can honestly say that I
know it is the place that I belong. I have learned so much from the students that I have worked
with thus far and know that I will continue to learn so much more. As part of our education
courses, my partner, Katie, and I observe is Mrs. Smiths classroom on Tuesday mornings. Most
importantly, I want to thank you for allowing me to work with your children this semester. Katie
and I will be interacting and teaching your children through science-based lesson plans. This will
be tremendous practice for both of us as we continue on our path to becoming Early Childhood
Educators. We have already had many awesome experiences together and I am excited to see
what the rest of the semester had in store for us!
