What is Ethanol Fuel

Ethanol fuel is fuel that is renewable and is an alcohol based
fuel derived from corn, sugarcane and other types of plants.
It is usually combined with gasoline and is required in many
states to be sold to people mixed with gasoline.

History
Ethanol fuel was first utilized during the 1890s by Ford and their first
automobile the quadricycle.
It was not mass produced like vehicles in modern times so there were
very few of them which made the prices to buy
them very high.

History Continued....
The automobile the Model T made by the automobile company
Ford which ran on either pure ethanol or the combination of two
fuels. (one was usually ethanol fuel)
Henry Ford mass produced this
automobile so it was very common
for its time and was not very
expensive.

History Continued....
In many states in the late twentieth century to the early twentyfirst century there were rules, laws, and other legal documents
that were written.
They were passed for the implementation of ethanol fuel in
gasoline fuel, purchased at your local gas station.

Current Day
Today many fuel sources are not as effective, more expensive,
not environmentally friendly, and are not as efficient as ethanol
fuel.
For example the power that is produced from wind turbines is
not as effective as ethanol based fuel and are also more costly.

Future
Ethanol fuel will probably be the fuel we will turn to when other
non-renewable sources run scarce.
Ethanol fuel will be affected by water scarcity in the future and
this will affect many grains and other crops.

Random Facts
Ethanol is blended in more than 97% of U.S. gasoline today,
from coast to coast and border to border. That compares to
just 15% in 2002.
Consumers benefit too: ethanol reduced gasoline prices by
an average of $1.09 per gallon in 2011. That means the
average family saved around $1,200 on gasoline.
The industry was directly responsible for 87,000 jobs in 2012
and indirectly supported 295,000 more.
