This location is a shopping complex consisting of historical buildings, restaurant, and stores. Many movies and shows such as Safe Haven, Sleepy Hollow, and One Tree Hill were filmed there. We will be tracking down any history of this Cotton Exchange site. Slaves, riots, and cotton were all major problems in the past due to its convenient trading location being close to a port. One of our team members will be interviewing a member that is currently managing the site, which will give us insider details about it. We will investigate the step-by-step transformation from the past to today’s tourism hot site, We will also talk about the economic side of the Cotton Exchange. Project Plan: Our team will be investigating the history of the Cotton Exchange in Wilmington | and the role it played/plays in downtown Wilmington. We will be using information from several articles on NC Live.
