Fairy-tale exploration

Part 1:
1. Why did Cinderella get the low end of the stick when it came to having the new
family?
2. Why didnt the step-sisters realize who she was when she showed up at the ball?
3. Why did it take the stepsisters so long to ask for forgiveness from Cinderella? Why
did they wait until they had seen her at the ball?
4. Why did Cinderella treat her sisters to a nice life when all they did was treat her with
disrespect?
5. Why didnt her dad step in and take over before things got really out of hand?
6. Why was the godmother portrayed as a doll and not as an actual person?

Part 2:
1. First pattern, was that there is deception. The stepmother seemed all nice until she got
married to her dad and the stepmother started to show her true colors. This made me
think about Red Riding Hood and the way the wolf deceived Little Red.
2. The second pattern that I found was the fact that there were sets of three within the
story. There were three girls, three rats that became the three coachmen. This made
me think about the fairytale Rumpelstiltskin.

Part 3:
1. The first connection that I drew was between Cinderella and the Prince. She went
from being in rags to riches when she married the prince.
