Indeed Western culture and psychology

seem to take for granted that happiness
(pg. 267)

Many of people in our culture have taken

happiness for granted in the sense of not
being able to channel what truly makes us
happy and not materialistic things.

since these negative conditions are often

seen as being more negative than being
happy is positive (pg. 268)

Most individuals are accustomed to things that

make them so happy, they forget how to
handle adversity in life. They cant channel
their emotions in a way of dealing with things
like sickness and death; which in itself is a
very tough thing to do.

that happiness tends to cause, or be

followed by, sadness (pg. 269)

I believe that happiness is followed by

sadness because it hard to stay high for so
long before coming backdown low. As humans
we cannot stay happy forever, things in life
take a turn so that we have to deal with
adversity.

I apologize for the lack of entries, this is due to the fact I had to finish this assignment before
boarding a plane. We would not land in time for this to be submitted in time.
