Who was the mysterious stranger at Sieglindes wedding? What was his gift?
A mysterious stranger in gray with a drooping hat (most likely Wotan) who attended
the reception. He buried a sword up to the hilt into the tree located in the center of her

house.
What event has led Siegmund to Hundings house?
His enemies were chasing him after he tried to help a young woman calling for help.
What is Wotans plan to regain the ring?
He will have the one he loves, his son Siegmund, killed in battle.
Describe the character of Brunnhilde.
Daughter of Erda and Wotan and is considered by her father to be his most dearest
daughter. Shes a very loyal daughter and warrior. She has a sympathetic heart and

compassion for her siblings.

What does Brunnhilde fear most about her punishment? How does Wotan protect her?
She is afraid that a coward will awaken her and become her master. Wotan agrees to
surround the mountain she will lie in with a ring of fire that only the bravest shall
pass through.
