Tests Required on Zig-zag transformer as Per IEEE 32:

Routine test:i)

Resistance Measurement of all windings on rated voltage connection and taps or

sections of each and device.

ii)

Voltage measurements on the rated voltage connection and on all tap connections.

iii)

Polarity and phase relation tests on the rated voltage connection.

iv)

Excitation loss at rated voltage on the rated voltage connection.

v)

Excitation current at rated voltage on the rated voltage connection.

vi)

Impedance voltage and power at rated current on rated connection of each device
and the tap connection of the each device and the tap connections of one unit only of
a given design.

vii)

Temperature test or tests shall be made on a device only if no record of a

temperature test, in accordance with these standards, on a duplicate or essentially
duplicate design, is available.

viii)

Dielectric tests.

ix)

Impulse test.
