Developmental Focus: Social emotional
Learning Outcome Statement and Standards: The child will be able to blow a
bubble out of the wand using breathing techniques.
Materials: glycerin dawn soap hot water bubbles, wands, possible bubble
machine
Experience Description:
1. Mix 2 tbsp. of glycerin with a cup Dawn soap together in a gallon bucket of
warm water
2. Hand wands to children
3. Tell the children what a bubble is
4. ( bubble is water with air in it)
5. Tell the children how to blow a bubble
6. Demonstrate blowing a bubble
7. First the wrong way then the right way.
8. Compare the two ways on blowing a bubble
9. Explain to the children why the bubble pops
10.A bubble pops because it no longer is in the calm water and is out in the
open and doesnt know what to do
11. Let the children try
12.Observe the children as they try to blow a bubble
13.Go from child to child correcting their blowing skills
14.Encourage them to keep trying
15.After then mins have the children sit down
16.Blow bubbles or allow machine to blow bubble
17.Play relaxing music
18.And allow children from where they are to pop bubbles
19.Have children think about the questions you ask them
20.Because Preschoolers still struggle with managing their emotions. One
activity that can help teach deep breaths is bubbles! Have your child blow
really hard and fast on a bubble wand that has solution on it. Usually, it
just sprays and doesnt go anywhere. To effectively blow a bubble, your
child must blow long and slow

How can we make the bubbles last longer?
Have you ever felt like you didnt know what to do?
What did you do in that situation

Interrelatedness Explanation: Language: tell your child he can only pop the
bubble you will blow with the body part that you name (e.g., elbow, foot, etc.).
This is a great way to develop focus, attention, impulse control, and learn the
body parts.
Fine motor: having the children pop bubbles with their fingers
