BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:
Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of using the Internet to obtain research and find pictures to
support what they have found.
Students will understand the concept and use of concept maps/graphic organizers.
This lesson will be a continuation of social studies lessons to learn n this course.
We will also use this lesson and the content as an outline for a unit on countries in North and South America.
I do understand that there will be students who do not master the objectives for this lesson and I will have to
differentiate the lesson for them. However, modifications are not covered in this course and arent part of the
lesson.
Student Procedures:
Students will go over each country listed and develop an idea of how they will develop their information
At the Computer (25 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:
Have students open the Internet and go to Google Search Images
Monitor and assist as needed.
Student Procedures:
Each student will use the computer and search Google Images for the flag that matches to each country
listed.
After the Computer (20 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:
Allow the students to obtain their information and work on placing it into their charts on their
worksheet.
Student Procedures:
Students will put their information onto their charts neatly and efficiently then turn in for a grade when
finished after we review as a class.
Closure
Students will now go back to their seats and we will go over their findings as a class when everyone is
done.
