profitinsteadoftheconsumershealth,likethesafetyoftheworkersandliving

conditionofthefarmers.Italsoshowtherationalizationandalienationofitsworkers,

suchasCaroleMorrison.Itrevealstheshockingtruthsofhowfoodswasproducedand

howwehavebecomeasanation.ItletusknowwhatandhowtheFDAandUSDAhave

compromisedourhealth.Anindustrywherechickensgrowsofast,wherecowsarefed

toxicchemicals,andtomatoesaregeneticallymodifiedsotheywontberotten.Food

Inc.showsusthetruthaboutwhatweareeatingeverydayandtheUnitedStateisfullof

puzzleofobesity.

howthebigcompaniesputmoreimportancetotheirprofitsthantheirbuyershealth.


Durkheimsideawashowthelaborwasdividedinthefoodindustry.Itpresentshowthe

farmersweretheonewhotakescareoftheanimalswhilethecompaniesweretheone

whosellsiningroceryorsupermarketinmuchhigherpricethantheamountthe

workerswerepaideventhoughtheyweretheonewhoworkmuchharderthantheone

intheoffices.

Paradigm:

Inthefilmtheparadigmthatismostshowedisthestructuralfunctionalism.Wherethe

FDAandUSDAisinthehigherhierarchywhilethelaborersisinthebottom.TheFDA

andUSDAweretheonewhodecideswhatfoodtosell,howitwouldberaised,what

informationneedstobeknownandhideaboutthefoodproductions.Thelaborersonly

needtoworkanddowhatthehigherupssaidwithoutanyquestionasked.
