in a chosen subject area. Check your UCF Undergraduate Catalog for a list of approved minors. A
student may declare a minor at any point from the first semester term of enrollment and no later
than the submission of the "Intent to Graduate Form” in the Senior Year. Students are strongly urged
to declare a minor as early as possible. Minors are optional unless required by a specific major. See
the UCF catalog for a list of Academic Minors by College and the section in the catalog where minors
are listed alphabetically.
Eighteen to twenty four credit hours from a particular department may not be approved as a minor.
Some departments have a “structured” or pre‐approved minor (see the list of Academic Minors by
College in the UCF catalog). That’s why it is important to visit with an advisor in the minor
department.
The following steps will help you declare a minor:
Meet with your first‐year advisor and pick up a copy of the Undergraduate MINOR
Declaration Change Form.
Fill out the personal information on the form.
Meet with an academic advisor from the “Minor” department. That advisor will list
acceptable courses and an appropriate sequence for them, as well as any other requirements
needed to complete the minor (GPA requirements, etc.).
Return the form to the UCF Registrar’s Office.
