Is the poem first person or third person?
Interpret the meanings of the poem and talk about the main events
mentioned in it?

Rhyme & Tone:


Is there a regular rhyme scheme for the poem? Why?
What types of rhymes can you identify in the poem? (Internal
rhymes, perfect rhymes..etc)?
What is the tone that you can identify in the poem? How did the
writer create this tone? (Think about word choice, appeals to the
senses and grammatical arrangement of words).

Rhythm & Structure:


Do the stressed syllables in every line make a pattern?
Does the poet rely on short or long sentences or a mixture? What
is the significance of this use?
How many stanzas are there in the poem?
How many lines are there in every stanza?
Does the form fit the poems theme?

Imagery & Effects:


Did the poet make use of imagery in the poem?
If yes, identify the images (similes, metaphors,
personification..etc) and explain the effect of their use.
Are there a lot of images? In your opinion, why?
Did you recognize any assonance, consonance or alliteration in the
poem? If there is any, can you give examples?
