Whos the Murderer?

The poem Touched by an Angel by Maya Angelou is solving a murder on a tv show

before the tv show characters do. The show is exciting and sometimes hard to follow until I find
clues that lead me to the true murderer. The characters are describing the shells of loneliness
(Touched by an Angel 3) that the killer must have to be capable of such a crime. I try to put
my mind inside the persons that did this. I can relate to the murderer through old memories of
pleasure/ ancient histories of pain (9-10). I look at clues in the murder scene and on the bodies
of the victims. I notice that the murderer is hiding the true meaning of the killings. The murders
were not about the fear of love, but the freedom of it. I know a character on the show that has
had a spouse die recently. The murderer must be him. Then my favorite character realizes, and
tells his teammates that And suddenly we see/ that love costs all we are/ and will ever be./ Yet it
is only love/ which sets us free (17-21). His teammates realize too that their retired boss is the
murderer. I feel proud to have known this before they have. I feel smart and capable of being a
detective. The poem has finally been set free for I have discovered the theme that love is worth
the risk because loves gift is ultimate freedom.
