April 27, 2016, Wednesday, we did our weekly water testing and everything is good,
expect for the nitrate. We have been having trouble with the nitrate, because its
too high and this week it got even higher. Also the alga has grown back again, and
this time it was a rust color again, which is orange algae. We cleaned the dragon
and glass that had algae on it. We did a water change to clean the gravel and get
rid of the dirty water and put in clean water. We then added in a cap (10mm) of
ammonia quill. We hope we can figure out a way to get rid of this alga, because the
water changes and cleaning the tank has not really helped. Exciting news, though,
we got a Crawdad and its very tiny, so we have to make sure that when we do a
water change we dont suck it up by accident. Hopefully next week we can get the
nitrate and algae problem solved that way our fishes are living in a healthy and safe
environment.
