Materials: pens, college prep BINGO sheets, I Have a Plan! worksheets Procedure: 1. Warm-up: Intro questions a. Who has ever been on a college campus? b. How many of you have researched a career that requires some sort of training or college? c. Can anyone attend college? d. What are some reasons you think people dont go to college? i. Discuss financial options that are available to make college more affordable. ii. Anyone can go to community college, and this is a good way to prepare yourself for a four year college, if this is your goal. iii. There are special programs for students with differences. 2. Activity: College Prep Bingo a. Play a game of BINGO with squares that have college prep words. 3. Activity: I Have a Plan! worksheet a. Have students complete worksheet which includes: Name, Academic Goal, Career Goal, and Personal Goal. 4. Wrap-Up a. Ask students to fill out a post-it note on their way out, writing down something that they learned from the lesson.
