I have heard of and discussed in copyright issues in high school but it has been a while since I
read any articles on the subject. The main parts from the readings that stood out to me were the
fines and amount of damage in dollars that hackers and other copyright violators have caused. An
example comes from Pirate Bay defendants found guilty when the article says, The defendants
were also ordered to pay a total of 30 million Swedish kronor ($3.6 million) in damages to
copyright holders, among them a number of American media giants. That number of $3.6
million amazed me. I would have never guessed that much damage could have been done
involving copywriting. I found this article and the others like it to be informative and
educational. I would like some more explanation on how copyrights are protected and how are
these enforced with the sheer number of copyright laws out there?
