McBratney, S. (2000). Im Sorry. United Kingdom: Harper Collins Publisher LED.
This book explores the ups and downs of friendship. The book begins with the statement:
"I have a friend I love the best. She plays at my house every day, or else I play at hers",
describing a situation most children can relate to, but the book stumbles when things go
wrong for the friends. The book ends with the message: "If my friend were as sad as I am
sad, this is what she would do: She would come and say, `I'm sorry,' and I would say
sorry, too."

Monster explores all kinds of feelings: glad, sad, silly, mad - monsters have lots of
different feelings! Children try on funny masks as they walk through the wide range of
moods all little monsters (and kids!) experience. Its a fun, interactive way to explore the
many different ways we feel!

Yolen, J. (2013). How do Dinosaurs say Im Mad? New York, NY: The Blue Sky Press.
Dinosaur begins the book expressing his anger in ways such as: throwing things,
slamming doors, and throwing food around. Dinosaur then learns how to calmly express
anger through speaking in a calm voice and not using physical violence.

Friends come in all colors and sizes; they can be funny or serious, musical or athletic,
outgoing or quiet. This book reminds children to celebrate their differences because that
is what makes each of us so special.

Bird wakes up in a bad mood. He is so mad and decides not to fly but to walk. While
walking many of Birds friends join him, following his every move, which eventually
makes Bird laugh and realize he is no longer mad.

Lucy wakes up excited to go out and make new friends. She soon finds it isnt as easy she
had hoped. But with time and persistence she finally makes a new friend.

This is a story of a mother who expresses her love to her child. She is excited to teach
him new things and show him places.
Meiners, C.J. (2004). Join In and Play. Minneapolis, MN: Free Spirit Publishing Inc.
A child explains how to make friends and join in on activities. The child shares how to
express emotion in a nice manner. The child shares that its ok if someone doesnt want to
play with you. She focuses on the importance of using manners and being a god friend.
Wormell, M. (2001). Bernard The Angry Rooster. NY: Berryville Graphics.
Bernard becomes angry one day. His friends are concerned and confused. With a little
help from his friends, Bernard gets help and is happy again. At this point he realizes, with
friends anything is possible.
Kaufman Orloff, K. (2010). I Wanna New Room. Broadway, NY: Scholastic.
Alexs family welcomes a baby sister to his family and has to share a room with his
brother. Unhappy, he makes many attempts to persuade his parents he needs his own
room. In the end he realizes without his brother he is lonely, and sharing isnt so bad.
