My name is Juliana, I was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, on a hot day

in June of 1997. I am the love child of Ernest and Jesika. I was adopted at the age of
five by my paternal aunt, who raised me in Charlotte, NC. I have three step-siblings,
three paternal siblings and two adopted siblings (cousins). When I was young I
would write short stories as a means to pass the time, however, as I grew older, the
writing began to stop. I am constantly thinking of new ideas, new materials, yet I
never write them down and they pass me by. When I began UWRT I was expecting a
class with many lectures on proper grammar, punctuation and syntactical
structures, I was not expecting to be challenged to write my ideas on paper after
reading or watching material.
I will admit that I had my fair share of struggles in this class. I would
consider myself to be apathetic to an extent. Many of the material we were required
to watch/read I was uninterested in. When we had to blog our initial reactions and
our response, I often came up with a blank. I feel this class challenged my ideas at
times, but then at other times I was not interested. Our E-Portfolio has been the
most challenging, it was hard to find ideas, it was difficult to master my papers and
put my ideas and opinions in order. I never expected to be challenged so fully, but I
dont think I mind too much. I enjoyed the class as a whole and I cannot wait to see
what the rest of my college classes have in store for me.
I originally came to UNCC with the intent of Biology being my major,
however, I began working at a church daycare and after a year there I found my
true passion. I am now I am persueing an education in Child and Family
Development. I want to one day have the opportunity to open my own daycare, and
raise my own family. If all works out I may even get a minor in Psychology, and if i
want to do anything with it i may want to go into child Psychology.
